PRODUCER

A producer oversees the planning, production, and delivery of various projects such as films, TV shows, commercials, and corporate videos. They are responsible for developing project ideas, hiring staff, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring the final product meets quality standards and client objectives.

ASSISTANT PRODUCER

An Assistant Producer supports the Producer in planning, coordinating, and delivering various audiovisual projects. They perform tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, arranging logistics, and providing creative input to ensure the project meets quality standards and deadlines.

STAGE MANAGER

A Stage Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing technical and logistical aspects of live events, such as concerts, theater productions, and conferences. They manage stage crew, schedules, rehearsals, and ensure that the production runs smoothly and on time.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

A Technical Director is responsible for managing the technical aspects of live events and broadcast productions. They oversee technical crew, equipment and systems, and ensure the technical quality and safety of the production. They also work with Producers and Directors to execute the creative vision of the project.

PRODUCTION MANAGER

A Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics and operations of the project. They manage schedules, budgets, contracts, and personnel to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets quality standards. They also ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations.

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT 

A Production Assistant (PA) provides administrative and technical support to the production team. They perform tasks such as setting up equipment, running errands, managing paperwork, and ensuring the production runs smoothly. They also assist with logistics, scheduling, and other tasks as needed.

3D RENDERER

A 3D Renderer is responsible for creating computer-generated images and animations using specialized software. They work with designers and other members of the production team to develop 3D models and renderings that are used in a wide range of applications, from architectural visualizations to video games and films.

VIDEO ENGINEER (V1)

A Video Engineer (V1) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining video equipment and systems for live events and broadcast productions. They ensure that video signals are transmitted and displayed correctly, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage the video crew. They also work with Producers and Directors to execute the creative vision of the project.

VIDEO TECHNICIAN (V2)

A Video Technician (V2) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining video equipment and systems for live events and broadcast productions. They perform tasks such as camera operation, video switching, signal routing, and troubleshooting technical issues. They also work with the Video Engineer and other crew members to ensure the production runs smoothly.

CAMERA OPERATOR

A Camera Operator is responsible for operating camera equipment to capture video footage for live events, broadcast productions, and other video projects. They work closely with the Director and other crew members to ensure that the footage aligns with the creative vision of the project. They also ensure that the camera equipment is set up and maintained properly.

DRONE OPERATOR

A Drone Operator is responsible for operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with cameras or other recording devices to capture footage from unique angles. They must ensure that the drone is operated safely and within legal guidelines, while delivering high-quality footage that meets the needs of the production.

VISUAL EFFECTS ARTIST (VFX)

A VFX artist is responsible for creating and implementing visual effects that enhance the overall look and feel of a film. They use software and other tools to create special effects such as explosions, smoke, and other dynamic elements, working closely with directors and producers to achieve their creative vision.

GRAPHICS & PLAYBACK OPERATOR

A Graphics Operator & Playback Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining graphics and playback equipment for live events, broadcast productions, and other video projects. They work closely with the Director and other crew members to ensure that the graphics and playback content aligns with the creative vision of the project. They also ensure that the equipment is set up and maintained properly and that the content is played back at the appropriate times during production.

PROJECTIONIST 

A Projectionist is responsible for is to operate and maintain the projection equipment used in live events, theatrical productions, and other video projects. They ensure that the projection content is displayed accurately and at the appropriate times during production, and work closely with the Director and other crew members to ensure that the projection content aligns with the creative vision of the project. The Projectionist plays an important role in ensuring that the projected visuals are of high quality and enhance the overall production.

SPYDER & ENCORE OPERATOR 

A Spyder or Encore Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating the Spyder or Encore video processor, which is used for managing and displaying multiple video feeds on large screens or displays. They work closely with other crew members to ensure that the video content aligns with the creative vision of the project and is displayed accurately and at the appropriate times during production.

VIDEO TAPE RECORDER (VTR)

VTR (Video Tape Recorder) Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining VTR machines (Hardware or Software based) used to record, store, and playback video content. They work closely with the production team to ensure that all video content is captured and stored correctly, and that playback systems are functioning properly to support the production’s needs.

  AUDIO SUPPORT POSITIONS

AUDIO ENGINEER (A1)

An Audio Engineer (A1) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the audio equipment used in live events, theatrical productions, and other video projects. They ensure that the sound is of high quality and enhances the overall production, working closely with the Director and other crew members to ensure that the audio content aligns with the creative vision of the project.

AUDIO TECHNICIAN (A2)

An Audio Technician (A2) assists the Audio Engineer (A1) with the setup and operation of audio equipment. They are responsible for tasks such as running cables, setting up microphones, and troubleshooting technical issues. A2s are also often responsible for stage management and may communicate with performers regarding their audio needs.

SOUND RECORDER

A Sound Recorder is responsible for capturing high-quality audio recordings for live events, films, TV shows, and other productions. They operate audio recording equipment, position microphones, and monitor audio levels to ensure that all audio is recorded correctly and without distortion, while ensuring the audio aligns with the creative vision of the project..

BOOM OPERATOR

A Boom Operator is responsible for operating a boom microphone, which is used to capture high-quality audio for live events, films, TV shows, and other productions. They work closely with the sound mixer to position the boom mic, capture clear audio, and avoid any unwanted noise or interference, while ensuring the audio aligns with the creative vision of the project.

   LIGHTING AND DESIGN POSITIONS

LIGHTING DESIGNER (L1)

A Lighting Designer (L1) creates the overall lighting design for a live event or production. They work closely with the creative team to understand the vision and aesthetic of the show and use their technical knowledge to design lighting cues that enhance the performance and create the desired atmosphere. The L1 is also responsible for programming and operating the lighting console during the event.

LIGHTING SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (L2)

A Lighting System Technician (L2) is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operation of lighting systems used in live events, shows, and productions. They work closely with the Lighting Designer and other production team members to ensure the lighting elements of the show are executed flawlessly. This includes programming, running and troubleshooting lighting boards, and maintaining lighting fixtures and equipment.

FOLLOW SPOT OPERATOR

A Follow Spot Operator is responsible for operating the follow spot, a type of stage light that is manually controlled to follow the movements of performers on stage. They must have a keen eye for detail and be able to quickly adjust the focus, intensity, and color of the light as needed to enhance the performance. They work closely with the lighting designer and director to ensure that the lighting effects are consistent with the artistic vision of the show.

   SPECIAL EFFECTS

FX TECHNICIAN

An FX Technician is responsible for creating and executing special effects in live events, concerts, and other productions. They operate equipment such as CO2 jets, fog machines, pyrotechnics, and lasers to create visual and sensory effects, while ensuring safety regulations are met.

   OTHER LABOR POSITIONS

ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

An Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in audio/visual productions. This can include wiring and cabling, lighting systems, audio equipment, and video display systems. They work closely with other members of the production team to ensure that all electrical systems are installed and functioning properly to support the production’s needs.

RIGGER

A rigger is responsible for the safe and efficient setup and operation of equipment that is suspended above the ground, such as lighting, sound, and video systems. They ensure that equipment is securely fastened and balanced, and they may also be responsible for transporting equipment to and from the event location.

CREW CHIEF

A crew chief is responsible for overseeing the Stagehands. They will assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment for events such as concerts, conferences, and productions. They manage and coordinate the technical team and ensure that the event runs smoothly and meets the client’s expectations.

STAGE HAND

A stagehand is responsible for setting up, moving, and dismantling equipment, scenery, and props for live events and performances. They work with lighting, audio, video, and rigging equipment to ensure that the production runs smoothly and safely. They also assist performers and technicians as needed during rehearsals and shows.

PA RUNNER

A PA Runner is responsible for performing various tasks to support the production team during live events, concerts, and other productions. This can include transporting equipment, assisting with setup and teardown, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, and providing general support to the production team as needed.
